Contract Beauty is a small independent publication
about how beauty products actually get made — white label, private label and
contract manufacturing, written for the founder trying to choose between
them.
Why this exists
Most writing about cosmetics manufacturing is either a factory’s own sales
page or a thin listicle assembled by someone who has never seen a filling line.
Neither helps when you are holding four quotes with four different minimum order
quantities and no idea which of them is comparing like for like.
This site tries to be the thing we wanted when we were doing that: specific,
current, and honest about the parts that are genuinely difficult.
Who writes it
Sean Elias works across cosmetics
manufacturing and direct-to-consumer brand operations, with hands-on experience
of private-label production, regulatory claim review, and scaling a skincare
line from first sample to repeat runs.
How we work
- We name our commercial relationships. See our
editorial policy. - We date our facts. Pricing, lead times, minimum order
quantities and certifications change. Anything specific carries the date it was
checked. - We say where a supplier is weaker. A comparison that always
reaches the same conclusion is an advertisement. - We correct things in public. Errors get fixed on the page
with a note, not quietly deleted.
